Delight in the Viking Bearded Axe, Hand Forged.
Bearded Viking axe, hand forged
The bearded axe or skeggøx (from the Old Norse words skegg for beard and øx for axe) was popular between the 6th and late 19th centuries. The Viking Age saw its popularity as both a tool and a weapon. Compared to the sword, it was not only simpler but also much cheaper to produce, making it the most important weapon for common people in early medieval Scandinavia.
The distinctive blade of the axe featured here is mounted on an ash wood handle. It is hand-forged from carbon steel, has a blunt edge, and was deliberately left unpolished. The black tinder coating gives the Viking axe a rustic, authentic character.
This Viking bearded axe is designed as a collectible or decorative item and is also ideal as an accessory, for example to complete your costume. So nothing stands in the way of your transformation into a proud warrior!
