The butcher's axe was the most popular polearm of the late Middle Ages. It developed from the hellebore, but was on average slightly shorter and had a hammerhead on the side opposite the axe blade.
Our replica is based on a 1475 murder axe. The steel axe head is handmade. The wooden handle is medium-long.
