The head of the Condor Tool Axe & Double Pointed Throwing Axe is made from 1075 carbon steel, heat treated and annealed to a Rockwell hardness of approximately 50-55. The blade is powder coated black. The paracord wrapped handle is made with real 550lb test parachute cord that includes seven inner strands that can be deployed for later use in a situation where a piece of rope may not be enough. One of the inner strands can also be stretched further to provide fishing line, sewing thread, or assistance in any situation where a thin, strong thread is needed. The included sheath is made from high quality canvas with a leather belt loop.
