This fully articulated, wearable leg replica of the medieval plate armor worn in the late Middle Ages is handcrafted from 1.2 mm steel and blackened inside for enhanced corrosion protection. It protects the thighs, knees, and lower legs.
The breeches consist of diechlings, pointed knee pieces (or knee guards ), and hinged leg tubes to protect the shins and calves. The necessary freedom of movement is ensured by a carriage on which the individual thrust elements are connected to each other by sturdy steel rivets. The upper edge of the diechlings and the lower edge of the greaves are crimped. In addition, the diechlinge are fitted with riveted pieces of leather with pre-punched holes in the upper edge. On the outside, the knees extend into striking wings approximately 17 cm high and 14 cm wide that curve towards the back of the knee. Three adjustable, riveted straps made of approximately 2 mm thick leather and brass buckles allow for individual size adjustment.
These articulated leg guards are equally suitable for medieval reenactments, LARP, stage, TV/film, costumes, or cosplay. They're ideal for late medieval settings and will make your transformation into a proud and noble knight or warrior simply perfect!
To ensure the armor is right for you, remember to take your measurements with the gambeson (and/or any other garment or chain you plan to wear underneath).
The steel used here is not stainless and may show slight signs of corrosion. We recommend regular maintenance of the plate armor, for example with Ballistol, a universal oil ideal for preserving steel products.
The above specifications may vary slightly from specimen to specimen.
