Gauntlets were an indispensable part of plate armour in the late Middle Ages. They offered optimal protection for hands and wrists both on the battlefield and in jousting tournaments.



Due to their special hourglass shape, the late medieval combat gloves we offer here in pairs are also known as hourglass gloves . They are handmade from approximately 1.6 mm thick steel (slight variations in the steel thickness are possible due to the manufacturing process). The inside is blackened for better protection against corrosion.



These combat-ready armoured gauntlets are characterised not only by their authentic appearance , but also by their flexibility , which guarantees sufficient freedom of movement. Riveted inner gloves made of soft suede and sewn-in finger inserts made of durable leather ensure the necessary comfort. To prevent possible chafing, additional leather strips are riveted to the inside of the cuffs. A sturdy riveted leather strap on each wrist holds the glove firmly in place, ensuring a secure hold during combat. For individual size adjustment, the strap is pre-cut and equipped with a steel buckle.
