The Red Dragon Weapon Sparring Gloves are at the forefront of affordable hand protection for weapon based martial arts. They were developed in collaboration with the HEMA community and contain many features normally only seen in gloves costing more than twice as much. The overlapping plastic finger plates ensure that the likelihood of a weapon coming into contact with the fingers is kept to a minimum whilst providing maximum freedom of movement. The combination of protective plastic panels and shock absorbing foam provides a high level of protection against many types of blunt weapons used by martial artists. The durable microfibre exterior provides long lasting protection and durability not available with traditional synthetic leather covers. The gloves were designed to protect against synthetic sparring weapons but are also used by many for training with steel (blunt) weapons. They are without a doubt the best sparring gloves in this price range.



Please note that these gloves are designed for training with synthetic swords. While most people find them durable enough for controlled combat with steel weapons, the gloves will wear out more quickly as a result. The Red Dragon Hema Sparring Gloves are not indestructible and are not meant to last forever. As with any other sports equipment, they will wear out over time and need to be replaced. The more they are used, the faster they will wear out.
