Give Away Hourglass Gloves, Circa 1390, Handcrafted From 1.6mm Steel
Hourglass gloves, circa 1390
Our battle-ready reconstruction of late medieval hourglass gauntlets is very artistically handcrafted. Similar gauntlets can be seen in the original at Churburg Castle in South Tyrol and were probably made by a Milanese armourer around 1390.
Not only are they characterised by their precise workmanship and authentic look, they also impress with their very good wearing comfort, as all finger joints are freely movable and a fully sewn-in soft leather glove is located inside.
The gauntlets are suitable for show combat. They are made of steel with a thickness of approx. 1.6 mm. In addition, the steel parts are cleverly decorated and reinforced with brass sheet.
The inner gloves are made of light leather, so under certain circumstances it is possible that the lightly oiled steel parts may become dirty.
In short, an almost perfect replica of the art of armor from the late Middle Ages.
