The red color flies through the air, passing behind the thin edge of your Guandao. Like a knife through butter, you watch as your sword slices through your target. It falls in two distinct pieces at your feet.

Your master barks his approval. You continue without pause, the red piece of cloth tied to your weapon allowing you to test the quality and speed of your blow. The damage against the next target is equally clear and gratifying.

DETAILS

The Epic Armoury Guandao is a 170cm latex polearm inspired by Chinese martial arts. Similar to a Japanese naginata or European glaive, this guandao features a large 69cm blade and an 80cm long staff. Hand-painted and sculpted, the end result is a beautiful weapon with a long, single-edged spearhead. Sculpted gold details add character where the spearhead meets the red leather-wrapped polearm. Add a ring or a piece of fabric through the blade hole to set it apart from the crowd.

Made from durable closed-cell foam around a fiberglass core and finished with a strong latex coating, you can be sure that your Guandao LARP weapon will provide the security and appeal you desire when creating your gear.

HISTORY

• A form of spear has been used for hunting for at least 400,000 years
• Spears were the most common form of weaponry during the Stone Age and remained popular until firearms were introduced.
• In Chinese, the guandao is appropriately called yanyuedao
• Rings secured across the back edge of the blade are used in modern martial arts to enable students to determine the quality of the strike and thrust.
