Whether you're a novice or a veteran, you rely on sturdy armor to protect you. Epic Armoury's RFB Veteran Greaves are stylish leather greaves designed to protect your shins. The armor is constructed from chrome-tanned split leather and carefully stitched around the edges to create a simple yet aesthetic design. The armor is secured to the leg using sturdy leather straps and brass buckles.
With an additional soft leather hem to prevent the armor from warping with overuse, this leg protection will withstand any LARP abuse you can throw at it. The greaves match our veteran armor and bracers, but have a distinctive, neutral style that will fit into almost any costume combination when you build your LARP kit for your next adventure.
Available in black and brown, and in sizes SM or L-XL.
HISTORY
- It can also be called a schynbald, as it only protects the front of the lower leg.
- The word greave comes from the Old French greve, meaning “shin” or “shin guard.”

Maintenance
Natural leather products are very durable but require regular maintenance with leather care products to stay supple and increase their lifespan. Make sure your leather products stay dry when stored. Let wet leather dry naturally before treating it. If it gets wet and dries frequently, increase the frequency of maintenance.
Cleaning
Clean by removing dirt with a stiff brush, then gently rub leather soap with a clean, damp cloth until the leather looks clean. Remove the soap with a separate damp cloth to clean any soap residue, and then use a dry cloth to wipe away any remaining water from the leather.
Conditioning
You should always condition leather after cleaning it, as the soap will have removed some of its natural oils. Treat the leather with mink oil, olive oil, or beeswax using a clean cloth, gently rubbing a small amount of oil or wax into the leather in circles. Allow the leather to soak in the oil before wiping it with a final clean cloth to remove excess residue.
