The Cold Steel® Biden-Handed Greatsword is the largest sword they make. But don't let its size fool you: this large weapon is anything but bulky or cumbersome. Of course, this two-handed sword is long and heavy and must be carried over the shoulder, but it's extremely well-balanced and easy to handle for tall, strong people.
Weighing approximately 3 kg and with a 1 m long carbon steel blade, it can literally take out any pikeman or swordsman, and can deflect rifle butt and bayonet attacks with equal effectiveness.
In German, this large two-handed sword is also known as the gassenhauer because it could be used to open real alleys in enemy lines.
To protect the hands from enemy weapons, the sword has an impressive guard with protective rings. Later, the guards not only provide additional protection but also allow the blade to be shortened for slashing and stabbing attacks in close combat. The leather-wrapped wooden handle is extra long to offer a firm grip and enough room for both hands. It ends with a heavy steel pommel, which forms a good counterweight to the long blade and can serve as an effective striking weapon in its own right.
