The wearing of headgear was compulsory for both sexes in the Middle Ages. Leather caps, whether plain or more decorative, were already fashionable among men in the High Middle Ages, as evidenced by finds in the ancient Viking city of Haithabu.

This leather cap is sewn from durable cowhide and has a soft cotton lining. To represent wealthier figures, we recommend adding a trim, for example made of leather.
