This wearable replica of a late medieval neck and chin plate armour is made from 1.2mm (18 gauge) steel and blackened on the inside for better protection against corrosion.

The neck plate, also called the chin guard or chinreff , has the multi-layered design typical of late medieval Gothic plate armour (15th/16th century). It consists of three parts: a gorget and a chin guard, which are firmly riveted together and therefore immovable, and an upper layer for additional facial protection. This upper plate is hinged with rivets and can be folded up and down. When pushed up, it reaches right up to below the eyes. It is reinforced at the top edge and has a series of round recesses that provide the necessary air circulation. On the right side of the chin guard there is a small retractable pin that holds the movable plate securely in position when folded.

The neck support is open at the back (without neck protection) and is equipped with a riveted leather strap of approx. 2 mm thickness with a brass buckle. The strap is adjustable in size, so the width of the collar can be individually adjusted for optimal comfort.



This armoured collar is ideal for late medieval and renaissance settings. It is equally suitable for portraying a variety of historical figures and fictional or fantasy characters and will make your transformation into a proud and noble knight or warrior simply perfect, regardless of whether it is a medieval reenactment, larp, ​​theatre, tv/film, costume or cosplay.

The steel used here is not stainless and may show slight signs of corrosion. We recommend taking care of plate armour regularly, for example with Ballistol, a universal oil ideal for preserving steel products.
