The gladius, the principal weapon of the Roman legions, was in use between the 4th century BC and the 3rd century AD in many different variations. True Roman soldiers never left camp without their gladii. In addition to the helmet ( galea ), shield ( scutum ) and armour ( lorica ), the sword was part of the equipment of every brave legionary.
This gladius for little legionaries is made from a single piece of wood. With this wooden sword, every child will be well prepared to defend his castle. The Roman camp, the carnival party or the local playground become the setting for great heroic deeds.
