Roman gladius

The Roman gladius is perhaps the most famous piece of ancient weaponry. Its simple, long, double-edged blade with a long point makes it an ideal stabbing or piercing weapon that could defeat the bulletproof vests of its time.

This Cold Steel® interpretation is not a reproduction of a specific antique gladius, but rather a collection of this historic sword's key features. The blade, for example, has the traditional shape, but unlike the antique version, it's made of spring-hardened carbon steel. It's fully ground and highly polished on both sides. The point is long but strong enough not to bend or break. The handle is carved from rosewood and decorated in a classic style.
The wooden scabbard is covered with black leather and decorated with a muzzle plate, a cap plate, and carrying rings made of solid brass.
