The equation. Dansk mead is a unique combination of the traditional bitter Dansk mead and gammel. The addition of hops and ginger gives it an exceptionally complex and slightly spicy flavor.

This semi-dry, aromatic, and sweet mead, somewhat reminiscent of sherry, is ideal for many occasions.

Enjoy it chilled as an aperitif or at room temperature as a sweet dessert wine.

To make honey wines, Dansk Mjød relies on old, traditional recipes with the addition of juices and herbs. Another special feature of many Danish meads is that fermentation is halted by adding alcohol. This gives the honey wine an unusual strength, which is kept in check by the remaining sweetness, achieving a liqueur-like smoothness and balance.
