DETAILS

This best-selling Battle-Ready Gambeson is a padded armor that covers the torso, abdomen, back, and upper arms. It can be worn alone or served as essential padding under chain mail or armor. The gambeson dons like a jacket and closes in the front with four leather straps with iron buckles.

This sturdy gambeson, thick enough to serve as its own armor, is constructed of 100% polyester padding sandwiched between 100% heavy cotton, all stitched in vertical rows. The seams hold the padding in place and mimic a classic early medieval European style. The gambeson is open under the armpits to allow the wearer to breathe and move freely.

Although European in design, gambeson-style or padded armor has been used around the world since antediluvian times, making the Battle-Ready Gambeson a great basic armor with a variety of possibilities regardless of time and place.
