A gambeson is almost indispensable for display and free combat. The gambeson, also called gambison , armor , or aketon , was primarily worn under plate armor and chain mail in the Middle Ages. It increased the comfort of wearing this steel armor and could also absorb enemy blows, thus reducing the risk of injury.

This ulfberth® gambeson is made from several layers of fabric: a strong and sturdy cotton canvas outer layer, two padded layers of wool, and a soft cotton inner lining.
< br>This version is inspired by a late medieval armor jacket. What's special about it is the slim fit and fabric-covered buttons.
