Designed to add comfort and protection beneath your Scout shoulders from Epic Armory, this Scout Shoulder Gambeson is a must-have when venturing into battle. Made from a quilted cotton shell and lined with a soft polyester interior, this product features stitching that ensures the padding remains evenly spaced. Secure it around your neck by tying the cotton threads in the front and wear it alone or as padding beneath any heavy steel or leather armor. Padded armor was common across many cultures and eras, and with its interchangeable style and affordable price, the Scout Shoulder Gambeson will work on a wide variety of LARP characters.

The Scout Shoulder Gambeson outer shell is made of 100% cotton. The padding is a blend of 50% cotton and 50% synthetic fibers. The lining is 100% cotton.

HISTORY

• Padded armor has been around since at least 400 BC.
• They were used as padding under chain mail or plate armor.
• Historically, a European gambeson from the early Middle Ages was recorded as being able to prevent sword blows from penetrating the skin.
• It could stop heavy arrows and mace and axe blows with the addition of chain mail overlay
