A gambeson is almost indispensable for display and free combat. The gambeson, also called gambison , armour or aketon , was worn under plate armour and chain mail in the Middle Ages. It increased the comfort of use of this armour. steel and could also absorb blows from the enemy, thus reducing the risk of injury.
This ulfberth gambeson is made from four layers of fabric: an outer layer of cotton fabric (canvas), two padded layers of wool, and a soft cotton inner lining.
Materials:
- Outer material: 100% cotton canvas
- Inner lining: 100% cotton
- Filling (upholstery): 100% wool
- Color: natural (also available: black)
- Neck height: approx. 5 cm
