Roman phalera, horse, brass or tinned brass
A phalera is the Roman equivalent of a military medal or trophy. In ancient Rome, these decorated disc-shaped plaques, which were usually made of gold, silver, or bronze, were awarded to Roman soldiers who had distinguished themselves in battle. During parades, a highly decorated Roman legionary (called a phaleratus ) would display his phalerae on a leather cuirass that he wore over his armor. Distinguished veterans who had accumulated enough medals for a full harness were held in high esteem.
This replica of a Roman phalera is made of brass and features the image of a trotting horse. It is available in two different colours: gold (brass) or silver (tinned brass).
This brass falera is ideal for equipping your own chest harness and also as a replacement, for example for our articles 1016676500 and 1016676102. Delivery does not include mounting material.
An ideal accessory for Roman reenactment.
