Give away Roman Phalerum, Alexander the Great, Tinned Brass
Roman Phalerum of Tinned Brass, Alexander the Great
A phalera is the Roman equivalent of a military medal or trophy. In ancient Rome, these decorated disc-shaped plaques, which were usually made of gold, silver, or bronze, were awarded to Roman soldiers who had distinguished themselves in battle. During parades, a highly decorated Roman legionary (called a phaleratus ) would display his phalerae on a leather cuirass that he wore over his armor. Distinguished veterans who had accumulated enough medals for a full harness were held in high esteem.
This replica of a Roman phalera is cast in brass and tinned. It bears the image of Alexander the Great with ram's horns (the so-called horns of Amun ).
This brass phalera with a gorgon head is ideal for equipping your own chest harness and also as a spare part, for example for our article number 1016676500. Delivery does not include mounting material.
An ideal accessory for Roman reenactment.
