Chain skirts, also called chain aprons, were especially popular in the late Middle Ages, as during this period plate armor dominated and only the exposed parts and transitions were protected with ring armor.

The chain mesh frr:
It is a European chain link, consisting of flat rings throughout. All rings are closed by round rivets with round rivet heads. The braid is 4 in 1.
We call this type of braid frr (English = f flat ring r round r rivet heads)
