Discover Frm Chain Skirt, Di8mm, Untreated
Chain skirt frm, flat ring with round rivets, di 8 mm, untreated
The chain skirt, also called chain apron, was especially popular in the late Middle Ages, as plate armour dominated in the Middle Ages. In this period, only the exposed parts and transitions were protected with ring armour.
Our chain skirts are also ideal as starting material for your own projects.
The FRM braid is a European flat-ring chain braid, which was manufactured and used with various modifications and with different ring diameters from ancient times to the late Middle Ages. It consists exclusively of flat chain rings. The rings and perforated rings are alternately joined together in the 4-in-1 braiding style. This weave was and is less labor-intensive than the fully riveted braid, as only every second ring is riveted. The riveted rings are riveted together using round rivets, resulting in a round, hemispherical rivet head. We abbreviate this authentic braid type FRM, after the English. (= f mixed round rivets.)
