Obsequia Falcata With Horse Head Handle, Including Sheath And Side Knife, 4th-3rd Century BC
Falcata with horse-head handle, including scabbard and side knife, 4th-3rd century BC Chr.
The falcata is the typical pre-Roman sword of the Celtiberians, a Celtic people who lived before and during the Roman era in the Iberian Peninsula, especially in what is now north-central Spain. It is similar to the Greek kopis and the Nepalese khukri . Our falcata is a replica of a sword from the 4th or 3rd century BC.
Particularly striking is the richly decorated brass handle in the shape of a horse's head. The handle scales are made of bone and fastened with brass rivets. The EN45 spring steel blade is also very decorative with its numerous grooves. The scope of delivery includes a small knife with a bone handle. Neither the sword nor the side knife are sharpened.
The sword and knife find space in a beautiful red leather-covered wooden scabbard with mouth plate, mounting plate, bands and movable brass support rings.
This sword is designed as a collector's item or decorative object and is also ideal as an accessory, for example to complete your costume.

The steel used here is not stainless and may show slight signs of corrosion. We recommend taking care of the blade regularly, for example with Ballistol, a universal oil ideal for preserving steel products.
Since bones are a natural product, variations in colour and/or grain are quite normal. Therefore, each handle of this sword and side knife is unique and the images above are for exemplary purposes only.
