The Extrema Ratio Mercy Desert retains all the features of the famous Mercy, the model of the 4th Alpine Parachute Regiment, and is derived from the commemorative dagger that was issued on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the 4th Alpine Regiment and for the 70th anniversary of the Alpine Parachutists. It is a tactical fixed blade knife intended for situations where a knife must be extremely light and compact. The new desert color gives this model a new hue that better suits the needs of the most modern operational units. The blade is milled from Böhler N690 steel, heat treated to 58 HRC, 118 mm long and 4 mm thick with a flat grind. The knife weighs only 87 g (3.1 oz). The blade has a spear point profile with a fuller fuller making it even lighter, and a false double edge for ¾ of its length. The surface has a stonewashed finish. The knife has a polymer handle that flows smoothly into the ring surmounted by a breaker disc that allows the application of martial arts techniques and guarantees a very solid grip on the knife. It has the classic Extrema Ratio groove near the front that allows for a better grip and is fixed to the tang with a screw. In this version the handle is in desert colors. Being a knife designed and intended for professional use, great importance has been given to ease of transport, access and extraction when necessary. The knife is fixed to the sheath with a quick-release clasp that can be easily reversed for left-handed use. The highly durable nylon sheath also has a desert look and is very versatile; two adjustable loops allow connection to MOLLE systems, allowing for quick extraction in a tactical scenario.
