Give a Renaissance rapier with curved guard and leather scabbard.
Renaissance rapier with curved guard and leather scabbard
The swept hilt rapier originated in Europe in the early 17th century. It was during the Renaissance that rapier fencing was a fundamental part of the training of young noblemen and was often used to resolve conflicts between them.
The blade of this rapier is hand-forged from carbon steel (EN45), carefully ground and polished, but not sharpened. In terms of weight, size, and workmanship, it closely resembles its contemporary originals. The wooden handle is wrapped with steel wire, and the elaborate guard is made entirely of steel.
The scope of delivery includes a matching leather sheath with steel muzzle and support plates.
Details:
- Total length: approx. 103cm
- Blade length: approx. 85 cm
- Blade material: EN45 spring steel
- Includes leather case
- Weight (without case): approx. 950g
