The swept hilt rapier comes from Europe in the early 17th century. It was the Renaissance era when rapier fencing was a fundamental part of the training of young nobles and was often used to resolve conflicts between them.



The blade of this rapier is hand-forged from carbon steel (EN45), carefully ground and polished, but not sharpened. In terms of weight, size and workmanship, it remains close to its contemporary originals. The wooden handle is wrapped with steel wire and the elaborate guard is made entirely of steel.



The scope of delivery includes a matching leather sheath with steel muzzle and support plates.
