The swept-hilt rapier – basket-handle rapier or locking-handle rapier – from Hanwei (art. SH2205) on classic lines. The blade is made of flexible, hardened carbon steel. To ensure low maintenance, the handle is made of stainless steel. A special guard can serve as a blade catcher and the handle is wrapped with twisted wire. Since the rapier was made exactly the same size as the original German model from the 17th century, it offers an authentic feel and is equal to the original in terms of weight and balance.

In this vintage version of the Solingen Rapier, the vessel gets its antique appearance through a method developed by Hanwei that gives the stainless steel a museum-quality patina without compromising its corrosion resistance. This attractive finish gives the sword an authentic appearance. The blade can be exchanged for the Hanwei Blunt Training Blade (item no. OH2255), which was designed for safe rapier combat.

A matching left-handed dagger is also available (item no. sh2208n) and can also be equipped with a combat blade.
