This swept-hilt rapier (basket-handle rapier or lock-hilt rapier) from Hanwei has classic lines. The blade is made of flexible, hardened carbon steel. To ensure low maintenance, the handle is made of stainless steel. A special guard doubles as a blade catcher, and the handle is wrapped with twisted wire. Since the vessel was made exactly the same size as the 17th-century German original, it offers an authentic feel and is also identical to the original in terms of weight and balance.

The blade can be used against the Hanwei blunt training blade (item no. OH2255), which was designed for safe rapier combat. A matching left-handed dagger (item no. SH2208) is also available, and it can also be fitted with a combat blade.
