Delight in the Basket Rapier with Bone Handle.
Paper basket with bone handle
Rapiers with distinctive curved-handled baskets, also called basket springs , have their origins in the 17th century. At that time, rapier fencing was an essential part of men's training and was often used to settle disputes between noblemen. Toledo or Solingen blades were often fitted with handles by regional smiths. This gave rise to a variety of designs.
This Paul Chen (Hanwei) replica features a high-quality carbon steel blade and an attractive basket weave with a solid steel handle and a solid bone grip. A sturdy leather-covered sheath is included.
The rapier strap (item no. 0101050400) is ideal for this rapier.
