Viking hedmark sword, 9th century, standard version

This sword is inspired by the Norwegian Hedmark sword, dating from the late 9th century. The original is housed in the Oslo Historical Museum.

This replica has an unsharpened, double-edged blade with a wider handle. The guard and the wide pommel, typical of this type of sword, are made of steel. The pommel is riveted. The handle is wrapped with a leather strap.

The included sword scabbard is made of leather-wrapped wood and has a steel chapel and a wooden holder as a belt loop (for belts up to 5 cm wide).

This is the standard version of this sword. The same sword is also available in a combat-ready version: item no. 0180002521.
