Very nice reconstruction of a 10th century Viking sword, based on finds from England. As early as the 8th century, isolated Vikings roamed the British coasts in search of quick prey. However, from the 9th century onwards, this tactic changed and Scandinavians began to take land in England and settle there.

This sword is exclusively handmade. The guard and the typical five-ribbed pommel are made of steel. The blade is continuous up to the pommel, where it is hand-riveted. The handle is wrapped with a leather strap. The blade has a pronounced groove, which gives the sword great elasticity and at the same time lightness. The edge of the blade is not sharpened.

The sword is delivered with a very nice wooden leather scabbard with a wooden holder as a belt loop (for belts of max. 5 cm width). The scabbard has a richly decorated brass hood.

This is the normal version of this Viking sword.

The same sword is also available in a version suitable for show battles, with a blunt blade and rounded tip: item no. 0116696306.
