Purchase Viking Sword with Sheath, 10th Century, Show Fighting, Category-B

Viking sword with scabbard, 10th century, suitable for combat display, Category-B
Aside from the axe, the Vikings' most important weapon was the sword. This was also reflected in their faith. Warriors who died in battle only entered Valhalla if they died with a sword in their hand. The wealth of shapes the Vikings displayed in their craft design wasn't limited to swords.
Our replica of a 10th-century Viking sword, suitable for show battles, is the result of our own intensive research and fencing work. The initial goal was to create a proper reconstruction, which would then serve as a model for series production of both a combat-ready version and a decorative or sharpenable version. We deliberately chose a type of sword that is not often found as a replica. We relied heavily on original finds described in the relevant specialist literature. However, we have adapted the shape and length of the blade, as well as the dimensions of the handle, to the body size of people today and the demands of modern combat.
Typologically, blades of this type are classified as Petersen Type S or Wheeler Type III . When designing the boat, we based ourselves on the Type 10 combination , as described by Geibig.
This Viking sword is exclusively handmade. The forged EN45 spring steel blade has been oil-hardened and tempered to approximately 48-50 HRC. It has a pronounced groove, giving the sword great elasticity yet lightness. It is forged up to the pommel and riveted there to the end of the handle. The blade tip and cutting edges are blunt and rounded. The crossguard is forged from steel, and the wooden handle is wrapped in leather. Delivery includes a leather-covered wooden scabbard with an elegant, richly decorated mouthpiece and a silver-plated brass placemat.
