In 871 AD, the young Prince Alfred, later known as Alfred the Great, bravely led the army of King Ethelred of Wessex to a glorious victory over a large invading Danish force. This sword represents the primary weapon used in this decisive battle. The armorers at Windlass Steelcrafts forged this sword from carbon steel. The extra wide kerf makes the blade lighter. The crossguard is elaborately decorated with raised knots. The crossguard and pommel are both made of steel and have been darkened with a forged finish. The wooden handle is covered in soft tanned leather.



Includes matching leather sheath with belt.
