While most Viking swords have a double-edged blade, there are also some historical examples of single-edged blades with an upward-curved tip. Cold Steel's single-edged Viking sword may not be a faithful copy of any specific historical model, but it does combine some of the best features of Viking swords.



The blade, approximately 77 cm long, is almost 5 cm wide and has an extra wide groove. The blade is widest at the crossguard and tapers towards the curved tip.



The handle is very traditional, with a simple and relatively short cross guard. The wooden handle is wrapped with brown cord and ends in a heavy pommel decorated with copper wire and tapered to improve balance and make the sword fit comfortably in the hand.
