Viking sword with scabbard
The historic Viking sword of the 9th and 10th centuries had a long, broad blade with a wide central groove and two sharp edges. Since this blade was designed for slicing and chopping, in keeping with the fighting technique favored at the time, it had a fairly rounded tip, which was still sharp enough to stab well. A simple, forward-curved crossguard was often combined with a practical handle made of leather-covered wood (sometimes bone or even brass) and a solid pommel with five ridges to balance the long blade.
Cold Steels®'s interpretation of this sword features a hand-forged, double-edged carbon steel blade that has been polished and hand-honed to perfection. The wooden handle is wrapped in leather and framed by simple yet elegant quillons and a five-ridged pommel. The crossguard and pommel are decorated with traditional knotwork patterns.
A leather-wrapped wooden scabbard with polished steel headstock and mouthpiece is included.
