Note: This basket-hilted sword is a replica of an original sword dated around 1760 and is in the British Royal Armoury collection. The original sword's blade was most likely made in Germany a century earlier and then fitted with a more modern basket-hilt handle. This Scottish sword features an unusual basket-hilt engraved with a horned beast and a blade with two fullers extending almost to the point.
This replica is antique. The patina of its easy-care stainless steel basket is museum-quality. The carbon steel blade has also been lightly distressed for an authentic look. The handle is made of genuine ray skin with wire wrapping, and the bowl is lined with fabric-covered leather. A leather-covered sheath is included.
