Templar sword, Damascus version, marto
Damascus temple sword of the Templar Order, inspired by the Spanish swords of the time of Philip II. The Templar Order was founded in 1118 to ensure the survival, preservation of holy sites, and protection of pilgrimage routes. The Order reached its peak in the 13th century. The Knights Templar were considered representatives of God, the honor of the Church, and Christianity. Their motto, both for combat and for any action of aid to others, was: non nobis, domine, non nobis, sed tuo da nomini gloriam. Give glory, not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name. It was a highly organized military force and was the shock force in all the Crusades.
