Delight yourself with Sutton Hoo Sword, 7th Century

Early Anglo-Saxon Sutton Hoo sword with scabbard, 7th century
The Sutton Hoo archaeological site in East Anglia, England, includes numerous barrows, including the famous Ship Burial Mound, from which valuable, extremely well-preserved artifacts from the early 7th century were recovered in 1939. The most famous finds from this grave, widely believed to be the final resting place of King Rædwald of East Anglia, are the Great Gold Buckle and the Sutton Hoo Helmet, both important Anglo-Saxon craft artifacts.
This magnificent one-handed sword is based on a sword from the same burial chamber, more precisely, on fragments of a finely crafted hilt with a gilded pommel adorned with garnets. The remains of this prestigious weapon, or masterpiece, can now be admired in the British Museum in London.
The blade of this detailed reconstruction of the Sutton Hoo sword is a classic early medieval Germanic blade (broad, straight, double-edged). It is made of EN45 spring steel and has a wide groove on both sides that extends almost to the tip. The parallel cutting edges are unsharpened.
Like the original find, the richly decorated booklet consists of several riveted parts. The wooden handle is covered in leather and decorated with antique brass fittings. The pommel base and guard are constructed in three parts from a layer of wood sandwiched between two brass plates. The pommel's top cap is made of brass and red enamel. The elaborate patterns adorning the museum piece have been reproduced as faithfully as possible.
This early medieval one-handed sword comes with a brown wooden/leather scabbard with a wooden belt loop (maximum belt width 5cm) and a brass mouthpiece and capella with an antique finish.
This sword is designed as a collector's item or decorative object and is also ideal as an accessory, for example to complete your costume.
