Sica sword
The sica was a single-edged, curved dagger or short sword of Thracian-Illyrian origin. In Rome, the sica was used primarily by bands of robbers, giving these bands the name Sicarii . The weapon was also used by the Traecae , a specific type of gladiator.
This replica of a sica has a classic curved blade made of EN45 spring steel, typical of this type of sword. The edge is unsharpened.
The handle, pommel, and guard are artfully crafted from wood. A brass plate has been inserted into the guard for protection.
