"He gripped his father's sword tightly, his fingers tightening around the long hilt like the desperate grasp of a drowning man clinging to a branch. Standing before him was his father's killer. And now Matteo would have revenge. As he drew his sword, he had only a moment to regret it before the enemy was upon him, and he was fighting for his life. Chop and thrust, Parry and block. The battle went back and forth, only ending when Matteo, covered in blood, most of it his own, scored a lucky blow, ending the man's life for good. As he knelt in utter exhaustion, Matteo felt the weight of the world leave his shoulders. He was finally free of his oath. Medieval Europe, with a handle designed for one- or two-handed use. The crossguard is smaller than most European swords, allowing for a greater range of motion when using the blade. The hilt is made of polyurethane and has a high degree of detail, having been sculpted to resemble wood reinforced with rivets and gold bands, while the hilt and pommel are steel-colored with gold details. The handle ensures a great grip for the wielder. The blade is made of closed-cell polyurethane foam and colored to look as realistic as possible. Unlike most LARP weapons, the Vanguard line requires virtually no maintenance beyond checking for wear in the form of cuts or breaks.
