Give away Side Sword for Show Combat.
Paul Chen's Sidesword, Combat Version
The side sword (literally translated from Italian spada da lato ) was a military sword of the Renaissance (16th/17th century) that also became very popular among the civilian population due to its relatively low weight and agility. Unlike the rapier, which was popular at the time, it had the advantage that it was not only an effective cutting weapon, but could also serve as a thrusting weapon. Side swords were popular weapons when fighting with swords and shields.
The Paul Chen Sidesword (sharpened version, item no. SH2203) is inspired by a German model and has excellent balance properties, with a locking grip that ensures excellent hand protection. The Paul Chen Display Sword presented here is equipped with the same handle as the sharpened version, but has a combat blade that is safe for display combat.
Side sword combat, whether in a combination of sword and buckler or sword and dagger, is enjoying growing popularity within the ranks of various Renaissance reenactment groups.
