Give yourself Landsknecht Katzbalger Sword, Windlass

Landsknecht katzbalger sword, Windlass
From the 14th century onwards, Swiss pikemen established themselves as the dominant mercenary force. Later, however, equally brave and powerful competitors from Germany emerged. Landsknecht troops challenged Swiss superiority in a rivalry that lasted for years and in which no prisoners were taken. The strikingly dressed German landsknechts lived a harsh and brutal life and were famous for their enormous two-handed flamberge sword. After breaking the enemy pike line with the flamberge, a smaller one-handed sword was used for subsequent hand-to-hand combat: the katzbalger.
The Katzbalger wasn't as elegant as its somewhat frivolous-looking older brother, but it was still very stylish and designed as an effective slashing and stabbing sword. This sword, carried by all Landsknecht troops, including pikemen and archers, had an ornate S-shaped guard and a particularly long, fluted pommel. The Katzbalger's Renaissance roots were clearly noticeable. The beautifully crafted handle would be a credit to any Landsknecht. The serrations on the pommel flow smoothly into the wooden grip, and the crossguard is skillfully spiral-twisted and ends in hemispheres. The blade, made of hardened carbon steel, has three grooves that slightly lighten the blade. The black leather sheath is subtly decorated with crisscrossing leather straps that knot near the muzzle, and has a unique steel point. The crossguard measures approximately 11 cm in width. The blade has a distal taper, which means the weight of the sword is approximately 1.13 kg.
Includes matching leather sheath.
Manufactured by windlass steelcrafts.
This sword is designed as a collector's item or decorative object and is also ideal as an accessory, for example to complete your costume.
