Kris Sword



The Philippine islands are widely known for their wide range of bladed weapons. There is a wide range of kris sword styles, as each island, region and clan has its own favourite. Some put more emphasis on slashing, while other styles are more suited to thrusting.



The Cold Steels Kris blade is made from 1055 carbon steel with a strong spring hardening. It has a satin finish and is delivered sharp. In profile, the Cold Steel Kris blade features a moderately wavy blade shape with three concave curves and a long, sloping spear point found on almost all Kris swords. This blade shape offers a good balance between cutting power and penetrating power. The blade ends in a traditional decorated mid-piece, where the shorter part protects the fingers and the longer part protects the thumb joint and forearm.



The classic handle focuses on strength and durability rather than fashion. It is hand carved from exotic sal wood, wire wrapped and decorated with a brass bolster. Each Kris comes with a sturdy and handy sheath.
