The handle is topped with an oversized polished steel pommel. The handguard forgoes imaginative decorations in favor of a practical, pointed ellipse design. In keeping with the Boshin's clear, functional design, the wooden scabbard has a black satin finish and is wrapped with black faux leather and cotton cord.
