Gym sword



There are two basic types of traditional straight-bladed swords in China. The wen jian or scholar's sword is lightweight and was wielded primarily for self-defense purposes. The wu jian or war sword is longer and heavier and was wielded by warriors.



Cold steel® has studied the history and use of the wu jian in depth and decided to produce its own battle-ready version of this gi sword to serve serious collectors and practitioners of Chinese martial arts.



The blade of the Cold Steels® Gim sword is made from 1060 carbon steel and has been expertly hardened. With its two razor-sharp blades and handy, sturdy tip, it is not only effective but stylish too. The traditionally styled guard and pommel are made from sturdy brass and are precision-fitted to a beautiful wooden handle.



The gim sword comes with a wooden scabbard with a mouth plate, a cap and brass support rings. This means that it can be attached to the belt or worn over the shoulder.
