Gim sword
There are two basic types of traditional straight-bladed swords in China. The wen jian , or scholar's sword, is lightweight and was wielded primarily for self-defense. The wu jian , or war sword, is longer and heavier and was wielded by warriors.
Cold Steel® has studied the history and use of the wu jian in depth and decided to produce its own battle-ready version of this gim sword to serve serious collectors and practitioners of Chinese martial arts.
The Cold Steels® Gim sword's blade is made of 1060 carbon steel and has been expertly hardened. With its two razor-sharp blades and sturdy, practical point, it's not only effective but also elegant. The traditionally styled guard and pommel are made of sturdy brass and precisely fitted to a beautiful wooden handle.
The gim sword includes a wooden scabbard with a muzzle plate, cap, and brass scabbard rings. This means it can be attached to a belt or carried over the shoulder.
