Get a Scottish Sword with a Basket Hilt
Scottish sword with basket handle
Although basket-handled swords had been common throughout England since the mid-16th century, they only became known through their association with the legendary Scottish highland fighter of the 17th and 18th centuries. The Paul Chen Basket-Hilt Broadsword by Hanwei, a replica of an original sword in the British Royal Armouries Collection, features a typical mid-18th-century Glasgow-style hilt. The blade of the original sword (marked Andrea Ferara) was most likely made in Germany a century earlier and then fitted with a more contemporary basket-hilt handle.
This replica features an easy-care stainless steel basket and a carbon steel blade. The handle is made of genuine ray skin with wire wrapping, and the bowl is lined with fabric-covered suede.
