The Scottish broadsword, the infamous weapon of the highland clansmen, has a long, double-edged blade and a distinctive basket hilt. On the battlefields of the world, it proved that when combined with the targe (fist shield) and dirk (dagger), it was a match for any opponent.



Cold Steel® did not miss the opportunity to develop their own version of this famous sword. Hand forged, expertly hardened and beautifully polished, the double-edged 1055 carbon steel blade is triple serrated and any of these swords would easily pass the rigorous British Proof Test . The basket is constructed of blued steel. The wooden handle is covered with stingray skin and wrapped with wire. Also included is a leather-covered wooden scabbard with blued steel cap and mouthpiece.



1055 carbon steel

The carbon content and relatively low levels of other materials in this steel make it a very stable material, free of the brittleness inherent in most high carbon steels. This steel is ideal for blades that need to have a high impact resistance and is therefore often used for large fixed knives, machetes and swords.
