The Viking sword, or Carolingian sword, is a type of sword that was used in Western and Northern Europe during the Early Middle Ages. The Viking sword was developed from the Roman sword and was used by the Franks during the Carolingian period (751–911).



This sword was created entirely by hand. The crossguard and the typical tricorn pommel are made of steel. The blade is continuous to the pommel, where it is riveted by hand. The handle is wrapped with a leather strap. The blade is forged from high-quality spring steel and tempered to approx. 48 HRC. It has a pronounced groove, which gives the sword great elasticity and at the same time lightness. The tip of the blade and the cutting edges are blunt and rounded.



The sword is delivered with a very nice wooden leather scabbard with a wooden holder as a belt loop (for belts with a maximum width of 5 cm). The scabbard has a richly decorated brass hood.
