Roven's sword, pinwheel



Although it went by several names – war sword, greatsword, longsword, and even two-handed sword (causing some confusion among collectors) – the greatsword was quite a popular weapon. The length of this sword gave it reach and power. As the length increased, the swiping speed also increased significantly. However, the addition of the long ricasso made the sword even more impressive. The ricasso allowed the sword to reach further than the crossguard, allowing the sword to be shortened and used as a short spear. This made the thrusting much more stable because the blade was held securely at two different points.



This version of the sword is just as impressive a weapon as the originals. The blade is made from hardened carbon steel to make it a durable blade, the handle is made from grooved wood wrapped in leather and the pommel and crossguard are made from steel.
