The Lord of Joinville was a French knight known for his bravery and devotion to his king Louis. During the seventh crusade, he was attacked by a Saracen after losing his lance. The brave man of Joinville tucked his sword under his arm as a lance, attacked and killed his opponent. His brave action inspired the name of this beautiful weapon.



This design was very popular around the year 1400 because it could easily penetrate the armor of the time. The overall style of this simple piece is very attractive and highlights the deadly nature of the weapon. Crafted from 1065 carbon steel by the Windlass smiths. Includes leather sheath with mouthpiece and hood. The handle pieces are made of steel and the grip is made of hand carved hardwood and stained in a rich color.
